Sevyn's 1st birthday

And then there was the wind. When went to decorate the tables in the morning and there was no wind. When we got there later that afternoon all the decorations were blown down. The table cloths were ripped. The balloons that we brought would not even stay on the tables with the weights. I was nearly in tears. But by the time people started to show up I forgot all about it. And the wind had finally stopped. It was a huge success. I would guess that about 40 people showed up to celebrate. There was at least 20 kids there to play and have fun. We had a nice BBQ and Sevyn got some really nice gifts.

Sevyn's 1st birthday

The second catastrophe was the camera. My camera would not turn on. Even after I charged the batteries. So the pictures I got were not that great. They started with him being messy from dinner. Thank you to Aubree for having a camera that did work so that I could at least get cute pictures like this.

Sevyn's 1st birthday

We had so much fun at the park celebrating Sevyns first birthday. I nearly had a nervous breakdown before the party started. I was not happy with the cake at all, but I picked it up so late there was no time for them to change it. I asked for red yellow and blue frosting with a monkey and a giraffe and I got white frosting with a plain cake and no animals on it. The blobs were not cute and they were messy. However, it did taste pretty good or so I heard. Sevyn also ate so much for dinner that by the time we passed out the cake, he didn't even take a bite.

When Sevyn gets on surfaces he doesnt like he does this half walk/crawl. If only he could really walk. I dont want to rush him but being that I am getting further along and he gets heavier by the day, it is gettin really hard to carry him.

My babies

Two milestones today if you can call it that. One funny thing is that I was yelling the word NO at Sevyn and he slapped my leg. Does this mean we are starting toddlerhood?? The other is I can finally see the baby kicking on my stomach. I love watching that. It isnt very often but I am sure he is getting stronger every day. We have finally decided on a name for him. Colin Briggs Fernandez. He will hopefully be here mid October. We cant wait for him to arrive and complete our happy little family. If only I could have just one girl in this house, but doesnt look like it is going to work that way.

Summer swimming

I took Sevyn swimming for the first time outdoors. I thought he would love it since the Selbys love water and he does love his baths. But he didnt. He cried and after awhile he did warm up but was still a little skiddish.

Family arrival

Adrienne and Chris made it in from Virginia. They will be staying with us for a little while, until they find jobs and are able to move out on their own. It is really nice to have a female in the house. Only if it is for a little while. Yesterday was Memorial day and we went fishing. It was a lot of fun, but as usual we didn't catch any fish.
